While the sounds of a jet flying over makes it more difficult to hear the bugle, I think it adds to the message of what it means to be an American on September 11, 2009.
@lizlharvey Also, if you watch a video of the changing ceremony ... you would see a round be ejected from the weapon when the Sergeant of the Guard is inspecting the incoming Sentinel. There is one point where the Sergeant racks the charging handle back and locks the bolt to the rear. Were the weapon loaded, you would see a 7.62x51mm bullet eject.
Also ... they are carrying M-14 rifles. M-14s use a 20-round magazine. No magazine ... no bullets in the weapon. God help whoever challenges a Guard.
@ksek09 False. It's easier to get into Special Forces than it is to become a Tomb Guard. Less than six hundred soldiers have earned the right to wear the Tomb Guard Badge ... ever.
Saying "all you have to do is look good" and then "respect to them" ... that's a hell of a contradiction.
@lizlharvey Even IF the weapons were loaded....Deadly Force would never be authorized for being too noisy or for trespassing! Not to mention, how can you be responsible with the shot in a plaza packed with people?
@KmaC2464 21 steps are taken and 21 seconds before he turns and goes the other way. go check it out sometime

@84shakalaka I know its almost painful to say it but the drill looks silly as hell, is this normal Army drill or a thing specific to the tomb?
