Great sound bro! Reminds me of walking into a blues bar in New Orleans. Love it!!!

@Fatshead It's quite simple to do with a push pull pot to flip the leads on the bridge pickup with the flick of the switch, I have this mod on all my P90 and P13 guitars, P90s sound really great out of phase...

@JeffKnight Those are really cool guitars, though if it were mine you KNOW what I'd do to it ;-)

ive been really thinking about getting a p90 in my treble position. how are they one noise level if your standing at a distance of 5 feet or more from your amp? are they any noiser than single coils on a strat?

@srvledoux9 P90's are noisier than Strats, but it depends on the room you're in, worst case would be in a bar full of fluorescent lights and video poker machines, nothing helps there, even humbuckers will pick up noise there.

In all the years I've played guitar ive never asked, why do they hum?
StephenFiorentini 9 months ago
@StephenFiorentini They are a big antenna for 60 cycle AC interference. They hear hum from florescent lights, computers, house wiring, and the power transformer in your amp. P90's are real good at this as they have big coils. Humbuckers use two coils in series, wired head to head so the AC signal goes into both coils, so that signal collides from both coils and it cancels the 60 cycle hum. Noiseless P90's, don't sound as good tho-you lose other things besides 60 cycle hum.
