@BearsRock2000 Yea, I remember that. If Hjalmarsson was signed, I would have pulled all the Hammerhead shark jokes possible out there. You guys are right up against the Cap, and I guess Wilson's offer was a strategy all along. It was a win-win for the sharks forcing the Blackhawks to make a move. The thing that surprises me is how our window of opportunity is wider than before. Most of these guys are locked up, outside of the 4th line.

@rollercoasterfweak Stan Bowman chose to match the offer sheet Doug Wilson made for Hjalmarsson, instead of signing Niemi. He also signed Turco after he just had 2 subpar seasons, and traded Byfuglien, who he could've kept as well. The bottom line is, the money was there to keep Niemi, and to say the least, Bowman is not the best GM in the NHL. And good luck against the Canucks in the western finals.

@BearsRock2000 well... he's showing he's worth every penny now. Cheaper option than what DiPietro, Luongo, Lundqvist, Cam Ward, and Jonas Hiller are making. I'm still shocked how over the cap you guys were, that you couldn't afford the man for 2.75 million.
