"Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" was a mid-80's celebrity & wealth-worship series produced and narrated by Australian host Robin Leach. The show opened with a memorable theme tune, arranged as an orchestral disco, which had been the rage in the mid 1970s (and inspired the "The Love Boat" theme.)

But the melody actually originated in a Love Theme for the George Peppard movie "Five Days From Home" (1978) with composer credit for the movie given to film/pop arranger/composer Bill Conti (who had written the hit theme tune from the film "Rocky"); The melody also had a lyric written by Norman Gimbel under the vocal title "Come With Me Now" which had been written for the movie in 1978.

  • The music is magnificent it fits the show perfectly!

  • This song brings back great memories. The very first boner I got was watching an actress called Leann Hunley featured on the Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous. It must have been '89 or '90, and I was 7 or 8 at the time. Hunley (I think she was a regular on Dynasty or the Colbys) was wearing a bathing suit wrapped underneath a "sarong" and the episode was shot in Bali. I couldn't understand why my meat was so huge, but much later I learned about the birds and the bees and human anatomy.Yummy Leann

  • the beginning of the realty tv show... and like others just a platform for the publicity agents.. great theme..

  • The 1980's; the decade of opulence and greed. This show fit. You watched it, and either had two schools of thought: surprise and desire to match that, or envy.

  • I wonder if anybody in the YouTube community have a taping of the show's closing that features the tune "Champagne Wishes And Caviar Dreams" sung by Dionne Warwick during the credits? This was introduced sometime in the mid to late 80's. I wonder if that tune is on any of her abums from that period, or if it was recorded exclusively for the TV Show.

  • "Lifestyles of the money-junkies." LOL.

  • Champagne wishes and Caviar dreams ...!

  • I have an mp3 of a shorter version of this. Where can I get THIS one in mp3?

  • A relic from the days before we had rich-and-spoiled celebrity overload!!

  • Incredible theme song by the legendary Bill Conti ("Rocky" composer); today's TV doesn't have any themes like this. Nothing.

  • Thumbed and Faved. Classic.

  • Fabuolus Theme!!!!!!!! Beautiful Music... A true Master Bill Conti....Todays movie themes can´t beat this...
