Dying to Get In provides an intimate perspective of border crossing and the people who cross. The U.S./Mexican border, dubbed the "gauntlet of death" is infiltrated first-hand by documentarian Brett Tolley in this gritty examination. In his effort to further understand the relationships between developed and developing countries, the viewer is pulled deep into the Arizona desert where so many have already perished. Along the U.S./Mexican border, since 1994, the number of deaths in the Southern Arizona desert has continued to increase until the Summer of 2005 when it reached a record high. Many of these deaths occurred from dehydration. Insight into America's undocumented population shows that trade policies and economic sanctions have effectively forced people off of their own land. This phenomena is one of the world's best vehicles for learning the effects of globalization. It is Brett's tenet that as a global community, it is our responsibility to understand the relationships.
@lostinaction21 You're right about statistics, they always underestimate the problem. In 1986, before they granted an amnesty, they estimated that no more than 800,000 would apply for it. Turned out to be 3.2 million! Now, they're saying we have 12 to 20 million illegal's in the US. What do you want to bet that the real number is around 40 to 50 million! You're right...what they conceal is vital...and dangerous!

@lostinaction21 Having lived all my life in a border city, I can say for a fact, that's a complete crock of shit you're spewing! They not only take American jobs, but they take over entire industries. Notice everytime ICE or Sheriff Joe makes a raid on a business, that American citizens are lined up by the thousands to apply for those jobs the very same or next day. Your BS don't matter anyways...mass deportations will begin shortly, whether you like it or not, asswipe!

@fatty1443 And 76.5% of all statistics are made up. 'Statistics are like bikinis. What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital.'

@fatty1443 ya read into it, many times they use the STIMULANTS so they can journey NON-STOP through the desert and other crossings. The guns are for protection from retarded minute men and other threats likes BEARS AND WILDLIFE. Our own government in America is the WORST for drugs legal and illegal, it controls and keeps people in poverty from achieving. Not everyone crossing is safe, or wanting to do 'right', but most are trying to keep some hope alive for their families survival.

@FinickyGreek You are another corrupt retard owned by Jewish media propaganda. Get it together you stupid tool! They don't take jobs, and if you feel like you want to work their jobs refer anyone who complains to takeourjobs. org. They will give you an agricultural position. Anyone walking 3 or 4 days and nights through the desert with children, just to earn below minimum wage should be welcomed. Educate yourself before you spread ignorance, that's how rumors start.

@ragdollv18 Less than 2% of the illegal's here are working in agriculture and we already have a generous guest worker program in place to more than supply our labor needs. Problem is that farmer's just don't use the legal channels anymore, because the pool of illegal labor is so enormous they don't need to. I live in California and I can tell you for a fact that they do take millions of American jobs. Jobs that were formerly occupied by legal citizens

@008lily farmers placed cameras along popular border crossing zones. they had found that 60% of the groups had members carrying some sort of illegal item, wether it be an ak47 or a backpack loaded with cocaine. If they really were innocent people, then there wouldnt be farmers having to take their shotguns everywhere with them. I come from a state with an illegal immigration. on the news ive seen countless deaths of farmers by illegals.my friend has encountered 3,but scared them away.

@008lily 500,000 isnt many, considering there are 13 million in the US. 1 out of 26 isnt a very high percentage. 11 bil to 22 bil is spent on illegal aliens per year. 27% if prison inmates in federal prisons in the US are illegal aliens. dont believe me? look it up. i dare you. so they are causing more harm than good. lastly, 35% of illegals bring drugs alone--this equates to about 60% of smuggling groups. (remember, not everyone in the group is carrying drugs). lastly, a group of
