  • this is defo pioneering stuff there - will have to get a copy myself

  • @saviourzeroone I really recommend playing the game a few times before buying a copy if you can find someone who owns it.

  • @RockoRobotics cheers - i shall take your advice and find a local gaming group that plays it

  • @saviourzeroone Another reason to look into that is because you cannot take advantage of the games' experience and leveling system unless you have other human opponents. Playing games with only your own figures will never count towards experience.

  • Sounds more like a step back than wargaming 2.0.

  • @Demolitiondude That's one way to look at it. The nice approach would be call it an idea that is way ahead of the technology that is available, but like I said, that is the nice approach....

  • Finally, someone who isn't just showering this game with undeserved praise. I appreciate that they're trying to give me the game I've always wanted, but they just need to bring it away from the PC.

I think this needs video tracking technology to become interesting... Something like the Microsft tabletop thingy(a technical term), where it just knows how you're moving pieces, and it makes the call on rules.

  • @RockoRobotics I can see that but the guys behind it are going under the assumption that you or another person owning a laptop with a high speed connection. Not everyboby is gonna have a laptop handy all the time, hell my laptop is my cellphone. And I just do minor searching with it.

  • @escapeartist323 Thats the thing....Any need for the miniatures in this case is artificially created by the lack of functionality in the features. The software never gives you a full look at the battlefield. Only the miniature setup can give you that info.

  • If you have to play on a computer and internet, what's the point of even having miniatures and a board at all? I don't get it.
