EDIT: For people claiming the certificate is altered, here's a little technical data that the self-proclaimed "professional illustrators" (aka smug college Republican grad student assholes with Macs) don't mention:

When you scan a document into PDF, you can use a mode which does text recognition. This will produce a document with layers. It stores the text as actual text instead of an image. This option is there because it typically generates a smaller PDF file.

In the areas where the birth certificate is near-black, Adobe's PDF-rendering engine eliminates the 8-bit RGB data and replaces it with a 1-bit layer with alpha. It's all in the interest of reducing file size

Try scanning ANY item directly into Acrobat using the twain tool, which the EXIF data shows was done. Run OCR on it, AS IS REQUIRED BY ALL STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES THAT WORK UNDER THE PAPERWORK REDUCTION ACT. Multiple control layers are added, as are masks for objects.

Apparently because Barack Obama's mother was Ann Dunham, US CITIZEN, it doesn't fucking matter where Obama was born because if one of your parents is an American citizen, you can be born in Hawaii, Kenya, Indonesia, Antarctica, where the fuck ever, and still be an American citizen jus sanguinis (that's "through blood" in Latin). Every expert on Constitutional law in this country will attest to this. Seriously, Mitt Romney's father ran for president in the 60s even though he was born in Mexico, but nobody asked him to provide a goddamn birth certificate because it was accepted by pretty much everyone that even though he was born on foreign soil, he was of American parentage and therefore a natural-born citizen. John McCain was born in a naval base in the Panama Canal Zone, but nobody gave him shit about it when he was running against Obama. If you're even remotely wound up about Obama's citizenship after reading all of this, it's ONLY because he's black and has a foreign-sounding name, and you're a fucking racist.

Here's what has me scratching my head, you may or may not know that the so-called dark areas of obamas BC are in vector art...that it, it is not comprised of pixels like a JPEG. In your video when you chose the OCR it took areas that had poor resolution and made a vector interpretation of it and replaced it. Fine but did you also notice that it makes a softer and rounder version,,,like what always happens(as far as I know) when you convert raster art to vector. The vector in obamas is squared

@grannyrecipe At this point, I'm pretty sure he released the layered version specifically to keep zoom-enhance internet forensic scientists busy focusing on this useless issue and further force the Republican party into the position of having to choose between alienating birthers, or alienating moderates and swing voters. @synestheticmonotony The unique conditions of the war economy certainly played a massive role in ending the depression, but a majority of modern economists and historians alike would disagree with you that the New Deal made the depression worse. The notion that it did relies upon a lot of baseless hypotheticals and I would say is based more on modern political spin than anything. At the very least, the New Deal kept people clothed, fed, and sheltered in a time of immense economic loss.

@ZrazorRozenstrauch The depression didn't actually end until the war ended. After that, we cut both taxes and spending by over 50%. And, since all of Europe and Japan's infrastructure and manufacturing was entirely annihilated by the war, and we had a large manufacturing base, we were able to become the largest manufacturer in the world. It seems that you probably are not cognizant of economic theory, nor are you knowledgeable of history. Rather, you are repeating was the TV has told you.
