Its true. The worst thing is, people prone to watch local news channels are probably more likely to fall for this crap hook, line and sinker... phishing pun intended.

The Fox Television Stations are a group of television stations located within the United States which are owned-and-operated by the Fox Broadcasting Company, a subsidiary of the Fox Entertainment Group, part of News Corporation...the rabbit hole runs deep, my friend.

How do these VNRs get uncovered?
Nielsen Media Research reports that 100% of "news" networks have used these and 80% use at least one a month, but I don't get how they know that. I'm sure the stations and the PR firms who produce the VNRs do everything possible to keep it secret.

It's such a shame that all the 'whistle-blowers' on video news releases have to be just as dishonest as the local news programs using them. For example, this video poster deliberately conflates a local FOX affiliate with the FOX News Channel, even though, no, News Corp does not produce the local news for a broadcast station. Murdoch and Ailes are not dictating how this station conducts the local evening news.
