Same as previous version but with spelling error corrected. This is a time-lapse recording of all ports on our recent cruise of the Mexican Riviera - LA to Cabo, then Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and back to LA. Many thousands of images were required to make this, with a lot of hours of post production. Special thanks to my wife Anne for her patience with me shooting all this (as early as 4:45 AM) while enjoying the best cruise we've ever had together. Thanks also to www.granitebaysoftware.com for creating such a great program for structured time lapse recording

  • When I went on there, we left Peurto Vallarta and the ship did a 360 in port and left

  • @MrCSheets Yeah - this's years cruise (the very last round-trip of the Mariner on this run they did the same thing.

  • Amazing!!!! I'll be in this ship next february!!!

Please tell me, which type of camera did you use???

  • @lilith06

Thank you! I used an old Canon Powershot G2 under control of GraniteBay Timelapse software on a MacBook running Windows XP. Post processing was Apple Quicktime Pro for the basic sequence and AVI rendering, with VirtualDub post-processing effects (chroma and temporal smoothing). Sounds worse than it is... hardest part was getting up every morning to be on the balcony to start the camera!

  • Nice time-lapse man, did you went into a Vallarta Advetures tour, they are amazing, and I believe the Yatch it is not Bill Gate's, it is Carlos Slim's Yatch (Mexican owner of the biggest corn powder factory, biggest cement factory and the most used cell phones company) but the chopper was out of the yatch wich is weird cause it is mostly never used, the Bill Gate's one it is at Nvo Vallarta and that one I've never seen it been moved from the pier, LOL...!!

  • @ether2802

Thank you! NO IDEA on the yacht - can only go by the announcement of the ship's captain who announced it all over the ship on the PA. Doesn't much matter to the overall video, though so I'm not too worried. SOME rich guy's yacht works fine too :-)

  • good video excellent work and camera !

  • Incredible, congrats!!!

  • @Zommbee yeah that works too, LOL..!!

  • Thank you! It was really pretty easy. I just had the camera (Powershot G2) on a tripod, connected to the computer. It only takes a few minutes to get the aiming set and start the computer software. Then off to fun stuff elsewhere. Whenever I got back to the balcony, I'd just stop the sequence. Most of them though my wife and I were just sitting on the balcony watching the arrival or departure, sipping a cool drink while the camera snapped away every 12 seconds.
