UK Betrayed by America - BP oil leak in Gulf

For many years now Britain and America has been portrayed by the media as an enduring love affair, 'In peace and in war, in freedom and exploitation, during prosperity and recession, till death do us part.' Like true partners in crime, Britain supported America's illegal wars and always ready in its defense, ready to sacrifice its children and send them as soldiers receiving only a fraction of the war spoils. Consequently endangering its own citizens and its own security under the false assumption that America will always stand with them.
But the true nature of this relationship has only surfaced after recent events. The oil spill in the gulf coast has killed many people and animals; it has destroyed entire communities within the ecosystem.
Obama has likened it to an ecological '9/11'.These are ironic words coming from the world's No. 1 polluter, even more ironic is that it was an American President who strongly lobbied for oil off that coastline, and that it was the American people who agreed to cheap-oil instead of clean energy, and it was an American subcontractor who caused the accident, meaning they were ALL responsible for this yet it's the British who are facing the hostility and it is BP is cleaning up and seemingly it is BP who will be getting the bill? It just seems that the British are an easy target and are been used as a scapegoat in this situation, an easy target.
Obama has shown his true colours as he cuts and runs to save his own bacon just like a pig. As the media blames him for his complete lack of direction, he turns and blames his most prized ally. It's NOT like BP has invaded USA for oil! The truth of the matter is, no one should be surprised or shocked. Americans are simply doing what they do best, when things go wrong blame someone else, and now it's the turn of the British. They expected Britain to stand united in against Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and all other places of interest, and now for the sake of the very same oil they turned their backs and split the bond.
Its time you asked yourself. When will UK stop being a stooge of the west and stop meddling with things that don't concern it nor serve its own interest? When will Britain learn that the "special" relationship is nothing but a relationship of convenience for America and that they will not think twice about deserting Britain? Just like the UK was lead into the endless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Are the British public and troops not being fooled into thinking they need to be in Afghanistan when this makes Britain a greater threat to terrorism? The British public should wake up and break the shackles of its American master and stop its war against terror from imprisoning innocents in UK to killing innocents abroad.

Comment pending approval? I see you don't believe in free speech. We are all up shit creek. Trying to place blame on America is failing to acknowledge who is running this nation. Our foreign policy is based mostly on what will benefit the nation of Israel. The people of this nation are suckered into believing they are our allies, they are not. I think Britain should pull all of it's troops from all American conflicts. And we should not be occupying foreign soil.

I think you misunderstand the 'special relationship', we don't hang on to the USA for our benefit. America is a product of British imperialism, and whilst the US are now an independent nation we still feel responsible for them. Britain tries, often in vain, to guide America in the right path.

the problem only started with Tony Blair, who really sucked up to the US, but for the most part Britons pity Americas naivety and arrogance.

I feel you pain with the wars for profit etc, but if you think this evil is coming from America then you are looking down the wrong rabbit hole. Yes our foreign policy is basically terrorism in disguise, But look how the Queen Mun and the Carlyle Group reaps the rewards.

We can see from the Oil Spill that there was fore knowledge tto this happening. Tony Hayworth sold all of his stocks in the weeks before, as well as Haliburton, & Goldman sachs. The mineral story is 10+ y.o. Fuck BP
