A young Paul Killiam does his schtick from 'The Old Knick' (a music hall he ran in NYC at the time) on The Steve Allen Show to promote his television series "The Paul Killiam Show" in which Paul provided clever comic commentary over early Edison and Biograph films (the footage parodied here is from the 1912 Biograph film, MAN'S GENESIS - directed by D.W. Griffith). This was before his ground breaking series, "Movie Museum", "Silents Please" and "The Silent Years" in which Killiam single-handedly introduced the television generation to the wonders of early cinema. Enthusiasts of the silent film era today owe Paul Killiam an enormous debt.
