On "Whole lotta shaking", in 1957, his outstanding piano qualities aside, he´s obviously "trying" too hard. Not too professional. On "Great balls of fire" , he´s better. Anfdin "High School Confidential", 8 years after becoming a great star, he´s finally made it, asa flawless performer. And all one has to do to confirm it is tro compare how he handles "Whola lotta shaking", first in 1957, then in 1964.

Yeah, you're right about that. But I understand why he wasnt too professional on the first one. It was his first tv apparance and great public concert ever, while he was high on cocaine and only wanted to make a great show and be a wild one. So when you look at it again, his pianoplaying is unbelievable. Look at his hands. It may not be the most professional, but it is fantastic as hell!
