Wayne State University Urban Affairs Director Lyke Thompson, Ph.D. discusses CompSTAT approach Detroit is taking in analyzing crime statistics and holding regular meetings in a CompSTAT environment to target crime trends.
Dr. Thompson leads the Wayne State University Center for Urban Studies, where Dr. David Martin's CompSTAT team currently partners with several police agencies in Detroit's Mid-town area to analyze crime, and holds bi-weekly meetings with multiple police agencies in order to discuss strategy and follow up on directives.
Professor Martin has also partnered with the City of Warren's CitiStat program, and created dashboards for use in tracking crime with the Warren Police Department.
