  • so I thought I would answer some questions as I work for the NY&LE. some of you are getting 2 locos confused. the one in the vid is 6101 the one in Gowanda on the backtrack is 1013. 1013 has been out of service for a few years due to bad wheels. The washouts are for the most part fixed. The line going to Catt. is still out tho. We are planning on doing passenger trains spring of 2011. in this video engineer is the late Charlie Harrington and the breakman is Steve Paterson.

  • @Don55443 Thanks for clarifying with that info! Much appreciated!

  • lol. I seen that train all my life in our quiet new york little place in South Dayton. It's been 3 years since I left and I wonder if I will get to see it when I go back there in August. ^-^

  • @AndrewlovesDanny The NY&LE was going to start up their passenger excursion runs again last year (2009) but a series of heavy thunderstorms washed out a part of their line. I don't know if they're up and running again.

  • @themavericks yes, we sold it several years ago

  • @Don55443 Was 6101 sold?

  • who is still with the RR. The Two F-Units sitting outside in Gowanda are in service. We just have no use for them at the present time as fright is slow and we're not running passenger. The depot looks very rough from the outside and needs a good paint job but still an amazing building! If anyone has any questions please feel free to email me, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

  • @MrTraindude Oh wow. Well I am going to go and see my parents this August so maybe I'll get to see it again. I know when I was there last there was a bunch on weeds growing on the rail, mostly the one that wasn't in use and the old ticket booth was falling apart that I could remember.

  • @ljones121 This C425 has a new home and is doing quiet well.
