people: all these fixes are BS or outdated. i've tried everything. airplane toggle, reset network, restore, restore and upgrade, opened up the iphone and reset antenna, jailbroken, tryed to downgrade baseband.after doing alot of research ive had my best luck with TEMPERATURE. toss it in the freezer for 5 minutes (dont get it wet!) and watch your signal come back. i just got mine out, 3 bars on 3G. it's not perfect but it's worked! thumbs up or respond or message me if it works for you!!

Another method for iphone 4s running on IOS 5.0.1, for "Searching..." problems, just click "general->settings->network->m­obile data (cellular data in US i assume) just click it on for 3 seconds and your carrier should appear, then you can turn it off if you so wish...i personally always have it off.

This method works every time for me, hope this helps
