  • Oh...but Hendrix couldn't play like that and Jimi was a good player. Me, I prefer Howard Roberts.

  • @GaryJB ?

  • @GaryJB Apart from some similarity in skin tone; no.

  • Fabulous. Ever notice how much Charlie Christian looked like Hendrix?

  • @Mariofan7 thank you kindly sir. I have an amazing private lessons teacher who helped me out a great deal with this song, so I cannot take all the credit.

  • @mychemcutie723 Well that's quite impressive for a beginner

  • yes, there is actually life beyond Django

  • @fromthenorthwest well dorian tends to be used over minor chords - more specifically min, m6, m6/9, m7, m9, m13, and m(add9). Mixolydian is used over dominant chords like 7, 9, 13, and all 7sus4 types.

  • @xblackb0x hey xblackbox, when do you know to use dorian and mixolidian? i've really been wanting to learn how guys improv over jazz

  • @lawnboyjohnson Yep. Here's the lineup:

    Benny Goodman (clarinet)

    Lionel Hampton (vibes)

    Charlie Christian (guitar)

    Fletcher Henderson (piano)

    Artie Bernstein (bass)

    Nick Fatool (drums)
