This is Kristian Cvetkovic playing two encores after the solo recital in Thun (Switzerland) on 17. October 2007 (amateur recording). This recital was sold out.

The encores are:
1. Grieg - Smafugl (Little bird, Vöglein) from Lyric Pieces, Book 3, op.43 No.4
2. Chopin - Etude op.10 No.1 C-Dur: Allegro

Kristian played the same program in the historic Château of Wolfsberg, situated above Ermatingen in the northern part of Switzerland the day before, i.e. on 16. October 2007. For those interested: the complete program may be seen at http://www.cvetkovic.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=605 For those that understand German: the page also shows the critic from the local newspaper.

  • Just curious, but what exactly does that make him, then?

  • The Chopin Etude is faster then usually.. really impressive! .. that proves your technical ability, but it aounds a little bit rushed. You couldnt wait to go home after the consert? :-)

  • Wow you play the etude so well:)

  • I'm hearing bah bah BAH bah bah BAH on the accents. Obviously a talented pianist, but, to me this should be smoothed out in the arpeggios. Garrick Ohllson, Pollini, Argerich...listen to the right hand. They are much smoother with the transitions to the next arpeggio and no major feeling that one has ended and another beginning.

Garrick Ohllson also has the best left hand technique for the bass melody in my opinion. I'm sure you could alter it....just a matter of do you want to?

  • What a fantastic piano performer you are! This is one of my favourite renditions of both that Chopin Etude. I find this one better than your previous recording - the bass seems more balanced.

  • niente male BRAVO

  • This performance of the etude in Oct 2007 was faster than your Feb 2007 rehearsal as is obvious. Perhaps a shade too fast ! I have, however, given this performance five stars also. Grieg recorded "The Little Bird" on reproducing piano roll and I have heard it played back live on Denis Condon's Steinway-Welte upright (keyless) reproducing piano. I think it does exist somewhere on CD. Your performance of Grieg's piece is exquisite. Pianists should include Grieg in their programmes.

  • Excellent. I just wish each note was a little bit more clear when you rush the arpeggios. It may be the recording though.

In any case. You're great! I hope you continue and grow into a superior musician.

  • so tall, u look like Van Cliburn. You play like and look like a pianist, great job!

  • I love teaching the Grieg Lyric pieces and it is a delight to know that real concert pianists are programming them as encore works!

The Chopin Op.10/1 went down really well with the audience!!
