  • @givemethebeatboys It was an awesome era to be a teenager. We didn't realise it at the time - but, the music was to become iconic ! They were days of relative innocence, basic decency and good fun ! No personal computers; mobile smart phones; internet or ipods - life was so much easier and happier ! Loved this song so much. Contrary to popular belief, the song is not about the Great Wall of China ... It was indeed written about the Hume Weir / Dam located near Albury NSW.

  • great tune

theres so many lost 80s aussie classic tunes

dale ryder had a wild voice

these guys deserved way more airtime !!!!!!!

  • @tboy24 you must be tone deaf tboy?

Chorus has the same chords. Same phrasing. Same melody. Same harmonies. Same tempo.

    Just different words.

It might not be intential, but it is still a breach of copyright.

  • @Walapalooza1 They did no such thing! Sounds nothing like it...go back to your Lego's and Highlights magazine and leave the music to people who can actually HEAR.

  • deadeye Dick absolutely ripped off this chorus for 'New Age Girl' which was a big US hit on the Dumb & Dumber soundtrack.

    I hope BCO sued.

  • This song was part of Surf in Hawaii soundtrack movie in 1987.

  • @AussieAviator well said !!! could not agree more!!

  • Lived across a laneway from Pete Farnon years ago in North Fitzroy - we met him 'cos he and his housemates owned a dog ('Ruby'); who perpetually escpaed from their yard into ours.

  • BCO - once discribed by Bono from U2 as "the best band in the world".

  • @AussieAviator Baxk when we had a healthy Australian music scene!!

  • Dale should front INXS, he would be perfect for it.

  • Great song, wretched video made for $10; still, glad to see it--never knew they made one, but then again, this wasn't a hit in the US where I live.
