I want one of these.. But I'm afraid to get one because all the reviews I've read say its picky with ammo... Anyone able to give me some insight on it?

@chizhr I don't get the impression that anyone here is unaware of, or in denial about, the G3/German origins of the PTR. Made pretty clear in the video, in fact. So, other than silly flag waving and Yank bashing, I can't see your point. Cheers.

@longchenpath I have no doubt, that your gun is cool. German G3 is a battle proven efficient rifle. Always respected german gun-makers. However when I first looked at the name "PTR" i thought it is really something new, but I am sorry it is not. Even if you make some small improvements with stocks, grips or whatever it is STILL G3.

@chizhr I like the way you talk out of your ass. I'm hardly a flagwaver---though I am an American---but your introduction of nationalism into the queue here really is quite pathetic in terms of Yank-bashing, not to mention just completely erroneous....and to everyone else: Got my first PTR a few months ago and it has got to be the most fun you can have with your clothes one! Truly a beautiful work of functional art. Save your spare change or work some overtime. Whatever it takes to get one.

@chizhr lol you've never heard of the CETME

I like the way the americans take famous gun from Germany put some new stock and grip and picantiny rail and call this "PTR" confusing people. This is G3 made in USA, call it "G3special" or something so folk can get an idea of what the gun is actually presented.

very nice rifles. mine is chambered in .243 and i hear that it's rather rare to come across those.
anyone else have a ptr91 chambered in .243 Winchester?
You guys need to make HK 33 and HK 53 clones to complete your selections. Relive the good old days of Heckler und Koch!!!!

The HK series is nice due to a huge variety of parts and cheap factory mags currently avaiulable. No rifle has the no tools/quick change claw mount optics possibility, either, unless you have an aftermarket throw lever mount. Mags are as cheap as $1 right now. As soon as I can afford it I am buying the PTR 91 sniper model with the fluted heavy barrel, and I am dreaming of a PTR 93 in 5.56 so make it, PTR ! !
