First time I have heard this movement up to tempo. This is part of Slavics playing Slavic composers music to tempo. D. Alexandr D'Maddalena

As a band director and a student of music, I must say that this symphony blows my mind. When I heard the Houston Symphony perform this masterpiece two weeks ago, I was totally taken away by the execution, the finesse, and the brilliance. I especially enjoyed how in the finale, Tchaikovsky shows his nationalism with a simple motive that just screams Mother Russia! As an American, I have ALWAYS respected the Russian Five. They had pride in their homeland!

@LiuGondor YESSSSSS!!!!!!! i knew it was something! ahahahahaha

George really makes the orchestra work for it's lunch in the performance! - though no way is Mravinsky's interpretation better than Perhlivanian's.
