Tamron's HIGH VALUE 70-200mm 2.8 is a serious alternative to OEM 70-200's. NOTE: for Pentax mount, the screw drive is what you want. On the K-5, screw drive is FAST! On Nikon or Canon, maybe Sony, Tamron has a micro motor that is probably slower then heck... (Music by http://danosongs.com and all photographs by Edward Thomas - Thanks!)

  • Did you take the photos in the beginning with that lens?

  • @DavidJames96 No, unfortunately I didn't have the Tamron with me on the Backpacking trip this summer though I wish I had brought it now! Thanks! - Edward

  • what do u think of the 15mm limited?

  • @bennybong360 Well, great question! I'm still testing and have not shot it enough to form any concrete conclusions but so far initial impressions are highly favorable! :) I'll have a review vieo on the LTD's when I get a little more overall experience with them! Thanks for the interest! - Edward

  • If I get this lens, what else do I need regardless of the kind of photography I do? .Would the Sigma 8-16 better some LTD primes? Will you ever review the sigma 70-200, Pentax 77 1.8 and 31 1.8?

  • @tabl10s Hi, I am working on a few videos that should help answer your question. But in a butshell, your most used lens will be in the "normal" range i.e. around 28-35mm with a Kr or K5. so the 31mm, 35mm M, or 18-55mm. 16-50mm would be priority #1. Then either a wide angle and/or a telephoto. A great 3 lens zoom kit would be the Sigma 8-16mm, Pentax 16-50mm, and Tamron 70-200mm. But don't forget the Pentax 50-135mm, it's lighter and the Tamron is heavy. Videos are coming! Thanks! - Edward

  • WHY IS IT SO EXPENSIVE... for canon ??? not even fair

  • this lens is ok but no for porfessional jobs unless you do garbage

when i started to get my pro equipment i had no money to get the 70-200mm nikon so i bought this option ,when i shoot the bride with my d700 and brought home the pics, they were so horrible color rendition very poor out of focus this lens and really bad for pro jobs and glad i have the 105mm,this one is ok for not PRO jobs otherwise ppl will be very upset

now i do have the vr nikon version and you get what you paid for

  • @Jordyvd96 It will work but it will become a 105-300mm because of the crop sensor

  • Great review...thanks for the text at the end.....God Bless

  • fit it on a Nikon D3100 or only Full frame ?

  • hello, great video. do you have any photos to share that were taken from the Tamron 70-200 F/2.8?

  • @TheSnaunner Yeah, I agree. don't give Tamron ideas. I'm looking to buy one when i get my taxes.

  • just picked one of these up on ebay for 520$ SHIPPED! mint condition, basically new. got a hell of a deal. can't complain with that at all.

  • real nice lens. I bought it for 800$ because I didn't know much about lens. For what I need I use the 50mm 1.8 canon mostly. I always get a err 01 with this lens.

  • Hi i own a pentax K5 like you do and the body rocks... Right now i deciding whether to buy Sigma 70-200 or Tamron 70-200... Could you give me some advise on which len should I get...
