Iaido Gold, 3 years, 3 times. 居合道。三年間で、三回優勝

I owe all of my sensei and family and friends who have supported me a great debt of gratitude. My successes would not be possible if it were not for the kindness and patience of others.

These are my winning kata at the 34th Annual Chubu Iaido Taikai (Central Japan Iaido Competition) held on September 26th, 2010.

I placed first and took home gold in 2008 and 2009 in the 1st Dan and 2nd Dan divisions respectively, but I really didn't think I was going to win 3 years in a row. I knew I could, but I didn't think it would happen. I've had injuries to both wrists which prevented me from putting 100% into my training since early this year, so I'm really thrilled to have won again, this time in the 3rd Dan division.

Kiai was not as profound as contestant #129's katana hitting the dojo floor on the first kata, but power-projecting kiai nonetheless.
