I just updated to Final Cut pro X and was experimenting with some old footage of a camp site new Dunedin, NZ.
Frustrating to move to to a new editing paradigm, but there is something to be said for it too. What is particularly nice is the way that you can do serious sound edits from within the interface. In this video, that ment that I was able to do some layering of sounds (after I stripped out the Cannon 5d mic input).
Because I was experimenting there are lot of little naff details in there. Static transition, for example. But despite this, I had fun creating this, which is why I'm posting it.
Also I used the stabilization for the shots (which is a great one button solution).
As I was playing around with the edit and the strange effect of the stablized shots, I saw the glimpses of a surreal horror film come into being. If anyone has a good short script for a horror film set at a remote campsite, then let me know.
;).
It makes me want to make a horror film for grown ups...
Footage shot with a cannon 5dMII and a lensbaby (plastic lens for some of it)
sound from the pro app sound effects library and a Native Instruments REACTOR plug in.
