James Kalm, rushing against a rapidly discharging camera battery and stringent museum security, wraps up this report/performance with views of the second and first floors of the Biennial. Thankfully confrontation was avoided, this time.

  • I'd love to see videos of the video installations. Hey, I know that's asking alot.

  • blackbranches,

The video rooms were always a toss-up, sometimes they were so packed I couldn't get a view. There were more videos this year than I remember at any of the recent Biennials.

  • It felt like I'd jumped out of an airplane without a parachute. Kind of serene, until you see the ground coming up fast.

    Thanks Ron

  • Good job James Kalm. I'm in São Paulo, Brazil. I didn't have to go to New York to see the Biennial, thanks to you. And I think the show is great. Curators did a great job. The artists are young, I assume. Looks like they came fresh from art school. Antonio Malta Campos

  • James for president!!! Thanks for being intrepid and trying (succeding) in another way.

Take good care of yourself, the world needs you!

  • Thank you for all those great videos. I am a French art lover living in the south of Brazil and obviously I can't travel to NYC every day. Your videos are a great opportunity for me to keep up with the best art scene in the world. Keep up the good work and if you ever have anything on Philip Guston, don't hesitate...

  • I'm glad you finished the tour, it was really enjoyable. I liked the suspense of seeing the next installation. There is some nice artwork. Thanks for the time.

  • Wow! This is your best work thus far. I very much enjoyed that trip from busted to the final episode. Well done. I think i'll go see it in person now.

  • mr. kalm, you did a very cool thing here...thanks for the risk. you should, and probably will, be recognized for this one.the karen kiliminik's were great, i like her work alot.the tendency towards the art of the remote control generation bores me as do c-prints.why don't they show big photographs of t.v's and get it over with, just kidding(kind of):(
