WATER, a psychological thriller, examines how one tragic occurence can unravel an entire community's secrets -- how one terrible act can unearth a much deeper horror from the past.
A local woman's badly beaten body washes ashore on an isolated island. The sister of the dead woman, Jessy Turner, arrives on the island to investigate her sister's death. She meets the town's local sherriff and the two are drawn into
a strong sexual relationship. They unmask secrets, not just of Jessy's sister's violent death, but of something darker. Something the islanders are trying to hide.

Starring IDINA MENZEL, who won a Tony award for her broadway performance as Elphaba--the "bad, green witch" in WICKED.

Also starring SHEA WHIGHAM, the Sundance Award winner for ALL THE REAL GIRLS. Whigham also starred in TIGERLAND with Colin Farrel.

Director, JENNIFER HOULTON began her career as an actor at the age of 8 on the NBC soap opera, THE DOCTORS. She played a featured character on that show for 10 years. At 18,after working for a year with the late experimental theatre pioneer, Joe Chaikin, Jennifer began writing...
Since then her plays have been produced at Cucaracha Theatre, HERE, The New Group, MCC, EST, La Mama, and many regional Theaters. She is the author of several screenplays, including ELEPHANT, SHOT OF LOVE, ALLIGATOR
IN BLOOM (all currently under option) and STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN (co-written with actor/writer CARA SEYMOUR--ADAPTATION,
GANGS OF NEW YORK) Jennifer is a born and bred Manhattan girl. She graduated with honors from New York University's Great Books Program. Her play, LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT is currently
in development with Back House Productions.
