Travel to South Africa

South Africa is known as A World in One Country, and as The Rainbow Nation. It is famous for its many world-renowned landmarks. You have every reason not to delay your visit to South Africa a minute longer. Find out whats in store for you by using our travel guide to help you experience, explore, and plan your visit to South Africa according to your lifestyle and travel preferences.

The most popular attractions in South Africa are Cape Town, where you can take a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain, The Drakensberg Mountains, where you can enjoy the splendid scenery and explore bushmen caves, Johannesburg for its business vibe and vibrant nightlife, Durban for its golden beaches and famous surfing spots, and Kimberley for the largest manmade hole in the world, where diamonds used to be mined.

Places the whole family will enjoy include the Kruger National Park, KwaZulu-Natal Game Parks, and the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park. World Heritage Sites that should definitely be visited are St Lucia in KwaZulu-Natal, the Sterkfontein Caves in Gauteng, and Robben Island in the Western Cape. A tour of Soweto, a Johannesburg township, is also a once in a lifetime experience.

Also worth visiting are the Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn, and their ostrich farms. Take a huge ostrich egg home with you. Visit picturesque East London, which has the only river port in South Africa, and whose museum houses the coelacanth, a big fish originally thought to be extinct.

Most South African museums will tell of the very many shipwrecks along the South African coast. Also visit the Museum of Africa, the Apartheid Museum, and the Hector Pieterson memorial.

South Africa is renowned for its wide range of wildlife parks and nature reserves, and is home to lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and wildebeest, also known as The Big Five. Addo Elephant National Park is a popular park and boasts of more than 450 elephants, which makes it one of the densest elephant populations on Earth.

South Africa produces some of the world's best wines and the vineyards there are popular tourist destinations.

If you get a chance to watch an international cricket match there, relax with a South African beer and enjoy some chops, boerewors or sosaties from the braai (barbeque) while watching your favorite team play.

  • I love The Cape of Good Hope..but there are so many incredible sights in SA...The Drakensberg Mountains...The Knysna Bush..all incredible.

  • East London has got to be my favorite place as I live there. It has the only river port in South Africa on the Buffalo River and has great beaches and scenery to boot. The East Coast Resorts area along the Jikeleza route just outside East London has coastal scenery second to none and the most charming little arty hideaways and places of accommodation. The East London museum is also home to old four legs - a fish thought to be extinct for many years. And Friesland milkshakes are the best!

  • Pennington, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.

A luxurious paradise near to the beach, very hot and dry, and vervet monkeys lurk around the town looking for fruit! A fantastic place, we enjoyed it so much.
