Intro to Algebra
1-Step Equation with Negative Multiplication (-4x = 52)
Video ID: cmdn004

The goal, as always, is to isolate or "solve for" the variable. You can undo any multiplication or division using inverse operations. This will complete the problem. Remember, you can not leave a "-x". which forces you to divide or multiply by a negative number in order to finish with a positive variable.

1. Undo the -4x: Divide by -4 on boths sides.

Solved: x = -13
