Ahmadinejad jokes with the British troops

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has met with some of the 15 British military personnel held in Iranian custody for almost two weeks, shortly after pardoning the group and vowing to set them free.

Iranian state television showed footage of Ahmadinejad shaking hands, smiling and chatting with the detainees who were dressed in suits.

People are talking shit because he set a group of sailors free for being in his land illegaly? I don't know what President Ahmadinejad did to piss everyone off, but I just don't see him as an asshole.

That being said, so? Iran is backward, dangerous and ludicrous. ...if you had a mental guy living on your street, saying how he wants to kill another of your neighbours who had grenades...wouldn't you be doing a bit of spying? Making sure he didn't go all out crazy?

Iran is dictated to by religion...that's grounds to be wary (of any country that allows itself to be dictated to in such a way, including America).
