September 20 2008

LI's of around -8 to -9 and CAPE values near and over the 2000 KJ's mark resulted in some very severe thunderstorms developing around the Darling Downs & Granite Belt regions.. Ipswich area and also the Scenic Rim shire.

It was a hot September day.. with temps over the 30C mark with Dewpoint readings over the 15C mark.

This was filmed from the Willowbank area south of Ipswich in Queensland Australia. Without a doubt though.. this developed into the biggest mesocyclone i have ever seen in Australia!

I have more video of this meso following on from this here in my channel.

The storm went on to produce lots of hail.. flash flooding and localised wind damage.
