Alex Deane, Director of Big Brother Watch, is interviewed for BBC South East about the case of the amateur photographer stopped and searched under Section 44 of the Terrorism Act for taking photos of fairy lights in Burgess Hill. See more here: http://bit.ly/894HZY
Alex is a Toff !
About as 'Toff' as any one person need be.
This is, for me encouraging, that the whole issue of the creeping authoritarian police/surveillance state is rapidly loosing any partisan bent.
It is encouraging to see a 'Toff' sharing a platform with characters like Tony Benn and David Davis.
Party politics has it's place, but these issues go way beyond that, when you see people from all political persuasions come together it usually means something is up.

I say well done to the PCSOs who tracked down the this peado / terrorist / benefit cheat.
If these foreigners (look at him in the video, he may effect a British accent but looks a bit swarthy if you ask me) think they can come over here with their cameras and photograph our Christmas lights, then they have another thing coming.
Cuff him, sling him in a van, Get him swabbed, DNA the bastard, bang him up, vote NewLabour.

Alex isn't a Toff, he is a new breed of civil liberties advocates - Cambridge with a difference!

5 stars. (Satire) Camera, baseball cap and a scarf, very suspicious, taking pictures of christmas decorations. It's a good job the authorities are alert! We would not want them wasting their time fixing dangerous holes in the road or spending money needlessly on libraries where folks might learn something and keep warm!

Anyone who is foolish enough to vote for New Labour encourages the Police State we live in. If we want to stop this total invasion of privacy and return to living in a free democracy, do not vote for New Labour ever again because a vote for the that criminal gang is to condone the surveillance 'society' we now live under.
