Dyno of RB20DET in '90 240sx

dyno clip of me tuning in my RB20DET on the local dyno... stock engine, stock boost... did 222hp, 206tq. not bad for an engine rated 214 at the crank

right now just a SAFC2... its all stock except for the 255 fuel pump... needed a little fuel trimmed out higher up..

i did a swap recently and i wanna know what kind of exhaust you got and was it custom?!

actually stepping down from a 2.4 truck motor that looses all power after about 4k rpm and swapping it to a 2.0l straight 6 is not a bad idea i did it my self, the 2 extra cylinders makes up for the exhaust gases that are eliminated with the .4l displacement reduction, the ka will fall appart at 7200 rpm but redlines at 7000rpm, rb20det on the other hand lag from idle to about 2200rpm then pull to 8250 rpm red line. i tached out 1st gear at 82mph with a j30 vlsd.my ka woulda blown.

i have a rb20 in a 240 i picked up a couple days ago. i'd agree the rb20 is retarded compared to the 25. stepping from a stock 2.4 liter four cylinder down to a 2 liter 6 cylinder is odd... but it does add over 50 horsepower, and the turbo platform is easy to get more power from. and it sounds like a fuckin skyline lol

Oh i see and yea i know it has to be a better engine and not like "Oh imma put this Geo Metro engine into my subaru"...LOL

@newyork2490 yes, and hopefully a better engine lol. youre not replacing the engine with the same engine, your putting something in it that it normally doesnt have. that makes the car unique, and when your friends look at your car when you rev the engine, and they hear the wicked sound of an inline 6 engine and a turbo spooling with a blow off valve, its just that much more satisfying.

basically anytime someone says swap, they are referring to putting an engine in a vehicle thats not normally found in that particular vehicle. this car is a nissan 240sx, but he put a nissan skyline gts-t engine in it. takes some custom work to get it done.
