  • So besides the tape delay difference are the other delays the same?

  • @colab4life Yes. Only the Tape modes were tweaked on the VMSD.

  • Does the VMSD have more headroom vs the original SD? I never played either one, but I might prefer the original SD for the reasons you mentioned.

    Thanks!

  • @LongHairRockerTN I'm not sure there are any voltage/headroom differences... just tonal tweaks. In fact, I'm fairly positive there aren't any voltage/headroom differences. The VMSD is just darker and has more intense/quirkier modulation than the standard.

  • Vintage Modified!!!! I personally enjoy using the Vintage one i haven't had any problems except maybe with introducing fuzz into the mix though gets a little crazy.

  • wow, those things sound terrific, I can see what the hype is about

  • @crxshdxmmy Should say that I kept the VM initially. The darker Tape Mode C was cool at home, but didn't really work so well in live applications... not present enough in the mix. I also got a little fed up with all the random modulation on the VM. Went back to the standard.
