Watch this Braun Entervan spew gas after failing a N.H.T.S.A fuel integrity crash test! Watch it spill all over the ground after impact. Don't light a match! We looked at one but the dealer wouldn't show us the crash test results...Did some research and I guess this is why! This test was done by the gov't. without Braun knowing. The report says it was their conversion design that caused the gas tank failure. Look it up! Read the summary at http://www-nrd.nhtsa.dot.gov/database/aspx/searchmedia2.aspx?database=v&t... No wonder Braun won't show anyone their results! If N.H.T.S.A. hadn't done these on their own, the public would never know....I dug a little deeper and found this http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/recallresults.cfm?start=1&... What else is out there?!?! Kinda scary as they're the largest wheelchair accessible van manufacturer in the US. Glad we didn't make a mistake and buy one... New Developments!!!
"Wheelchair Watchdog" was inspired by this video, etc. to start a blog regarding disability product safety. Read about the 4000 Toyota vans Braun just recalled!!! Go here http://wheelchairwatchdog.blogspot.com/ to see the info

  • I don't get it - this a test, right? So all vehicles that don't pass on the first run are unsafe? Gimme a break - there wouldn't be any cars on the road. If you're so serious in your concern about this situation, why did you add the polka music to the video?

  • david, it's not just this video, it's that there's more to it. It seems that Braun has a series of serious safety issues with there vehicles that people who purchase them might never know about. If things hadn't appeared to be so evasive, I never would have looked into it. Where there's smoke, there's fire apparently.

  • "Serious safety issues" that apparently lend themselves well to polka music. Frankly, I question your motives - if you're serious about this, YouTube or a blog is not the right venue to affect change. It seems to me you're just trying to "get" the company. Why not get in touch with NHTSA and advise them on how to do the job you apparently think they're not capable of doing?

  • The polka music's annoying but moves things along a bit. I did contact the NHTSA at the onset but sadly, there's no real recourse. I was told, suprisingly, that manufacturers can "self certify" themselves and aren't required to turn in their testing data. I think that's scary. I'm not out to "get" Braun, they just happen to be the co. that I took a look at and found there to be issues.

  • IM DRIVING A BOMB!!!

  • "it wasn't yet the standard! Vehicles need only meet standards that are applicable, not standards that are anticipated"

No. Sure. The Ford Pinto also meeted all the standards back in the 1970s. It must be a great relief to be ROASTED TO DEATH IN A CAR THAT MEETS "CURRENT STANDARDS".

  • This music is epic as shit.

  • I smell gas and oh yeah dont light a cigarette OH NO YOU DUMB IDIOT! (next day on nbc) After the government tested a braun entervan a stupid idiot had to have a cigarette and burned the whole facility down killing all inside

  • @syncrobismol2 the shmenge brothers from sctv got a polka named after them?

  • who is braun?

  • well that van used to be safe...thanks braun.

  • you're an idiot. this van is safe, it was moddified by a company for wheel chair's and lifts. they lower the floorboard and jack up the rear. this company just did a horrible job making the van unsafe. honda toyo and nissan would be no different from the same company.

  • All wheelchair accessable minivans aren´t this bad. The Honda and Chrysler/Dodge with wheelchair conversion from VMI can withstand a rear impact of 50 mph/81 kpm without any fuel leakage.

  • MADE IN USA!

  • you guys are not understanding... this van was modified for wheelchair access, and it meets federal motor vehicle safety standards.

  • Call and ask them.

That was in 2002 and from Braun, it doesn't mean they are all that way.= nor that this is what made it to market.

Gee Captain Obvious you can watch a video an see the end result, stop with conspiracy theories.
