@varunaagn right ok so lets forget about the 15 to 20 thousand victims and their half surviving families and start giving out medals to the brave Hindus who helped their countrymen out for the first time in history by simply going to the effort of opening their front doors. Sikh Organizations like Shiromani Gurudawara Parbhandhak Committee Sri Amritsar and DPGC Committee N. Delhi called some family in their functions in early 1985 and honored them, two families which I remember now were Mr. Bajrang Singh Advocate (Delhi) and Haldhar family (If I am not wrong).

And In Punjab, local religious bodies too.
