MOD playing: Distant Call

This is a live (but not particularly inspired or rehearsed) performance of the initial part of Mr. Man's classic Amiga Protracker module "Distant Call". The piano is a bright and chorused JD-style piano based on the Nice Piano patch from Roland's XV Collection. I bought the synth a few months ago and thought it would be nice to revisit some old tracker music while learning to play.

Excellent! Most who "copy" a song almost never play it correctly! you have great timing and also "pixel perfect" notes ;) Can I download a recording of this somewhere?!

Thanks. This version actually doesn't match the original note by note, I changed some parts to be more natural to play, the dynamics are not nearly as subtle as the original and notably most acciaccaturas are missing (due to long release and reverb). I placed the original audio in helllabs org, subdirectory media.

Did Protracker stuff for.. countless of years back in the day and tought this was one of the most amazing Amiga songs ever written.

Hehe, yes you are right... you don't play exactly as ut DOES sound but your sure tricked me :) At 0:37 you play identical to the original module AFAIK. I better listen a bit to the original song but your version is great! Kudos to you and off course to Mr.Man for the original ;)
