Beverlee McKinsey (August 9, 1940 - May 2, 2008) as the incomparable never *quite* recastable Alexandra Spaulding, apx. end of June through the beginning of July, 1992, the Blackout in Springfield & some days after. Most scenes with her son, Nick (Vincent Irizarry).

  • Alex is right about what Eric & the lives he destroyed, but she's wrong about Mindy & Nick.

  • @christopherhoughton1 Amen on all fronts!

  • Bev was the best actress on daytime television I think ever -- and she had great chemistry with Vincent Irizarry. From 88 to 93 GL was the best show on daytime, bar none.

  • Beverlee is such a powerhouse.....she added such depth, heart, soul, strength, etc. to a role that could've easily been dispensable if originated by someone else....Beverlee is one of daytime's greatest!

  • Thank you for posting this, I really enjoyed it!

  • LMAO!!! Funny about Lucci. Beverly is a powerhouse!!! Only one other actress delivers and that is Jane Elliot- Tracy Quartermaine. Nick stop being stupid and wake up. The skank lied deal with it!!

  • She was nominated four times for Another World. She never received a nomination for Guiding Light. And she admited that she was initiallly that she wasn't nomitated in 1992, just a few months before she left the show. It makes the Daytime Emmys kinda pointless that one of soaps greatest actresses never won.

  • She was the best actress and I loved her on Guiding Light

  • Beverlee was one of the greatest of the soap opera queens when the stories had real substance. I think she played two of the greatest bitchy characters ever, Alex and Iris. RIP
