@TheTomtah if his wrists are back, his arms are not directly beneath the weight, making it almost a tricep extension type of setup when bringing the weight down.

@RunnerJim95 weight plays a factor. i can bend my wrists as much as i want for lower weight. but i get up in the 500 pound range, if i bend my wrist im going to be dumbing that weight off in no time.

@TheTomtah I dunno, I've seen it done with wrists bent and straight, these T Nation and EliteFts guys seem to coach the straight wrists.
