Short film of bantamweight boxers Pete Sanstol and Panama Al Brown separately sparring in advance of their Sept. 13, 1935 bout in Bislet, Oslo, Norway. Sanstol is sparring with Olav Nilsen (it is believed, although he also sparred with John Wiksen too); Brown with Fredrik Johansen. Wow, this is my great grandfather. He married my great grandma Bessie Sanstol. I remember him, he died when I was 7, but I have fond memories of visiting him in california. Thank you so much for posting.

Thank you for presenting this very rare footage of two former boxing greats of the golden era of professional prize fighting. Unfortunatley, the lower weights classes (such as vintage featherweights, bantanweights and flyweights) are seldom mentioned. But, it is these boxers who are truly the classiest performers.
