7/16/09 - For Entertainment purposes ONLY!!! This is the 2nd half of the ordeal.
It seems that at least one person was upset at my description of this incident. So, if anyone's feelings are hurt or U feel that your country was made to look bad, I apologize for that. That was not my intention. In the mean time, just view this for the entertainment value that I intended it to be. Also, A great alternate explanation of the event was brought to my attention. It is posted by someone somewhere online.
It was still pretty unbelievable to us. Thankfully, this portion of it was recorded. (This video contains profanity.)

  • Hello All, Victor here. I've never read comments on Youtube before but have enjoyed these. Please take these videos as pure entertainment - That's all. If they are offensive to many of U, I will have them pulled. As U can see, SMV was not too upset about the whole thing. We got over quickly and had a wonderful show that night in Vitoria. Spain is still my favorite country to visit. That won't change. I love the Music, food, and have many friends there. All the best.

  • So I almost felt sympathy for SMV when I first saw this. I've since learned

    1. Its perfectly legal in Spain for fines to be paid in the officer's car. Foreigners often wouldn't pay the fine before leaving the country, so they have to pay in person, or the car can't go anywhere

    2. The offices close around 14:00 everyday.

    3. There are no borders in the EU. This stop is done as a routine stop to make sure that bus drivers are legally rested.

    4. This video is probably illegal.

  • The replacement driver says he is being fined because he drove too many hours 3 weeks ago. He claims that he cannot be fined because he is the replacement driver, so he cannot be checked by the police according to the european law.

    THAT IS WRONG.

According to the spanish law (there is no such thing as "european law", only agreements between countries), the replacement driver can be checked by the police for every activity in the last 28 days
