Is this made in Japan or in Korea. I have seen some on ebay that say they are Korean and others Japanese. Is there a noticeable difference in quality? This guitar sounds like it might be just the thing I am looking for.

@thorpypoo The guitar is made in Korea and I was unaware of any made Japan...ever???? Just recorded with it today and the tone was excellent and the neck flawless.

The guitar looks good. Id probly get this rather than the strat.

@santanaincubus you know both are great guitars but this has allot going for it. The tones are between a Strat, Tele, and Ric. The neck on this guitar is flawless, low action, no buzzes and does not fret out above the 12th fret. The guitar will also not weigh you down physically, it is much lighter than a Strat.

Yes they are, I have not changed out pickups on any of my Dano's.

I'm not putting them down or anything but did the original 50s 60s models have the plastic cap over the body?

@beatlesman369
Hi there, Not sure what you mean by the plastic cap over the body? I can tell you that the DC3 is not an original Danelectro design. This guitar model was built as a one of the resurrection guitars. But like the originals which I did own at one time, they are made of masonite. Masonite is the claim to fame. Masonite turned out to be very resonant and a cheap alternative to wood. One great side note is the guitar is unbelievably light in weight compared to my G&L back breakers
