Ist of all...Thank you so much for your service! There are So many of us that appreciate it regardless of what the media might try to show. 2nd.. I agree with the ... 'add-libbing'.. It should be a respectful...stoic...proud..triumphant rendition...not..hip-hops latest 'hero's' version. Thank you again for your service to your country..and to those of us that are proud to call the USA ...Home.. God Bless!
Everyone's heard this Whitney version a lot...but.. This VIDEO... was one of the Neatest Military Tribute Videos I have seen on YouTube. Thanks for posting. God Bless..and May God Bless America!
I hate it when artists sing natioan anthems (It is supposed to be so beautiful it makes you cry! wahh wahh), like before some football games and for special occasions, they ALWAYS extend words or change pitches or somthing that REALLY Pisses me off! I like it when a band (Especially a Military one) plays it like an orchestaral version and sounding like they have a sense of pride and the deep notes are sung by men and higher by women in the choir, that is great music! This is shit...
funny. i re-read my post and i NEVER said i did not respect my country's anthem. As a combat veteran taking part in 4 conflicts around the world, i can at least say i have done my part to defend our country and its anthem. my comment was directed solely at the TERRIBLE rendtion of it. why do people feel the need to "whitneyize" or "mariahsize" the song and warble all over the place on select notes? it sounds like SHIT. just sing the fucking song already. no need to 'rap it up'
I think that the problem here(or was a year ago) is that we are not able to commit our resources and time into a mass-"evacuation". we have screwed things up over there to the extent where we must slowly retract our troops so the national military of Iraq can hold their own. also, in consideration, there were VERY few troops who perished in the war, as opposed to ANY other conflict in american history.
Fantastic song, but I still think God save the Queen is better.
