this epic-scale historical drama inspired by the events of the Crusades of the 12th century. Balian (Orlando Bloom) is a humble French blacksmith who is searching for a reason to go on after the death of his wife and children. Balian is approached by Godfrey of Ibelin (Liam Neeson), a fabled knight who has briefly returned home after serving in the East. Godfrey informs Balian that he is his true father, and urges the blacksmith to join him as he and his forces journey to Jerusalem to help defend the holy city. Balian accepts, and he and Godfrey arrive during the lull between the Second and Third Crusades, in which the city is enjoying a fragile peace. Both Christian and Muslim forces are temporarily in retreat, thanks to the wisdom of the Christian monarch King Baldwin IV (Edward Norton), his second-in-command Tiberias (Jeremy Irons), and Muslim potentate Saladin (Ghassan Massoud). Violent agitators on both sides are foolishly eager to end the peace in a bid for greater power, and Saladin bows to pressures from Muslim factions; Godfrey is one of a handful of brave knights who has thrown his allegiance behind Baldwin IV and his community of diversity, and Balian joins him as they use their skills as warriors in a bid to build a lasting peace.

  • I like your description of this video. You are right in that there were agitators on both sides who wanted to disturb the peace; a lot of people think it was just the Christians, but it was the Muslims as well. There are good people and bad people.

    Reynald: WHO SAYS I RAID!!!???

Tiberias: That witness. All of Jerusalem. Holy God. And me!

  • no, it's Kingdom Of Heaven

  • Awesome video! What's the name of the song?

  • jerusalem

    FOR Jewish,Christians,Muslim,

  • Respond to this video... Historically anywhere an imam has prayed and it has been recorded the place has become a mosque (that is anywhere that happens to be holy to another religion.) I mean look at the Hagia Sophia it was built as a cathedral, however when an imam prayed within when welcomed by the bishop out of respect and low and behold Muslim soldiers stormed the cathedral and it was made into a mosque, thousands of small churches in eastern Europe were made into mosques later on.

  • @ati832 Besides as I said before, the naming of Jerusalem as the farthest mosque was a power play, I mean seriously you talk about Jews having no respect for Muslims, you're damn right they don't and they never should. In all honesty they should rip the al aqsa mosque down and rebuild what was MEANT to be on the temple mount. As it wouldn't be desecration if the Damn mosque was put up wrongfully. You built a holy place on another people's because a damn imam prayed there.

  • @ati832 As you clearly cannot read I said explicitly, I have read a 16th century copy of the Qur'an that was translated into English and it never once said that the flying donkey took Mohammed to Jerusalem it said exactly what I quoted above that the flying donkey took him to the farthest mosque, if it had been the farthest mosque as the book said then he would have been taken somewhere in the vicinity of Libya not Jerusalem.

  • @PerturbedMan jerusalem is a holy city for muslims because it was were the muslims use to face to prayer before they switched to the kaaba it is the place where the al aqsa mosque is this is the mosque muhammad pbuh visited in his night journey it states this in the quran, it is no interpretation as the quran mentions the al aqsa mosque which is in jerusalem i dont even no why im explaining this to you as it is pretty basic al aqsa is in jerusalem simple

  • @ati832 No in the passage of which the Qur'an supposedly states that Jerusalem is a holy city for Muslim (the one I quoted) in the translation it never states that Jerusalem is the mosque. Saying that Jerusalem is where he went is an iterperatation not the truth. Besides the whole naming Jerusalem as a holy site was a powerplay that has caused 1400 years of constant warfare.

  • @PerturbedMan Jerusalem is stated in the quran i do not know what you are arguing about it is also the holy land for muslims also and the verse you quoted does not need to mention Jerusalem as it was pretty obvious where this location is which was masjid al aqsa aka in jerusalem. jerusalem is also mentioned in the quran on the chapter about the isralites and how they should bow as they enter jerusalem, it is also metioned when the prayer direction for muslims changed from jerusalem to mecca

  • Ah yes, the Holy City of Jerusalem, which is never explicitly stated in the Qur'an. In fact the name Jerusalem isn't in the damn book once. For anyone who wishes to argue, I quote from the Qur'an “ Glory to He (God) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless (Yusuf Ali's translation). Where in that is the name Jerusalem stated?

  • Great movie, great music and great actors! I like this movie! :D
