Airplane with 100 people crashes in Iran; 32 survive

At least 70 people have died and many others were injured after an Iranian passenger plane with 105 people on a flight from Tehran to Orumieh, the capital of West Azerbaijan province, crashed tonight in a rural area of north-west Iran.

The Boeing 727, belonging to the national carrier, IranAir, had been unable to land at Orumieh airport because of severe weather and came down near the southern shores of Orumieh lake.

At least 70 people died in the crash, according to the to semi-official Fars news agency. At least 40 have been taken to hospital, 10 of whom are said to be in a critical condition.

@bitemysausage The sanctions are stupid any way you look at it: 1.The regime doesn't give a damn no matter what, they have hundreds of billons in oil money 2. Sanctions are directed at people to make them suffer & hate the regime but people are not stupid, they'll hate the sanctioner not sanctionee 3. Hundreds of US companies can benefit from contracts with Iran by creating jobs or selling parts or merchandise to Iran, right now all contracts go to China, Russia, Korea & US suffers unemployment.

@Hesam0000 i agree. the americans could have excluded parts for passenger aircraft under their sanctions, instead people are getting killed every year.  no wonder they are so hated.
