A white piece of bristol board glued to a sheet of cardboard works wonders as well. Anything thats white and semi-sturdy works best. I fond aluminum gives off too much of a light dropoff. When using white fabric/paper/etc you get a natural diffusion in the light being reflected

do you actually do any filmaking?Lighting is very important and this was just a clip from the end of one of there episodes.

Yes :S I know lighting is important it's just this was so obvious... shiny reflects light. duh...

that wasn't a fedora in the video...

just buy one, you can get a decent one made of 100% crushable cotton for like 40 bucks. :P
