Before I run here is a slightly softer Yiddish metal band from Sweden. Pretty good rendition of a great old tune.

MIlla did a good job here BUT her pronunciation is a little lacking. If she was a German speaker it would have been easier for her to pronounce the often guttural ending of many words like perelEKH. But she is not a German speaker so we can't be too hard on her.
I have tons of great traditional Yiddish folk tunes; got to love Yiddish!! I can send links if you like. Just send me a private message if interested. Got to run now.

@Lagolop Thanks for the hyperlink! :) I agree it is interesting; I believe it seems very sui generis. I think the Yiddish pronunciation may be the right one. One may also like the version you pointed at, but, I think/feel, the music is somehow incoherent with/to the lyrics, I mean, with/to the "spirit" of the song. Maybe, it should have been better with a soft metal rhythm... But I don't know much about music. Thanks anyway, Lagolop, it was worth listening to it. :)

Farwoz zi zingt af idish???
She's not Jewish.
THis is probably from the movie Dummy, where she plays a failed punk rocker who gets a gig at a Jewish wedding bypretending that her band played Klezmer.
Funny movie.

Well, if this IS from the movie Dummy, the muddled pronuciation would fit the character, who didn't even know what Klezmer or Yiddish even was until she was hired for the wedding on false pretenses.
