Over Turned Truck - Romiley

A fare was taking place and at around 12 noon one of the trucks toppled over. How this happened I am still unsure about.
Stories I've heard, there was the truck driver and his 10 year old son in the cabin.
Also I heard there were people trapped under the truck, however I don't think this is true.

The truck was successfully moved by around 7pm the same day.

Traffic around Romiley was cut off and told to divert.

I sneaked down by the Spread Eagle, down the one way and parked in the Arms car park and took these pics.

How c can you turn over a 40 ton truck in a straightline  ... wedged under yes ...but on its side ? I'm lost

You see the bridge? The truck was too high and as it travelled under it started to push it over.

lol, i remember tht, it was on the night of my school prom, werneth prom 08, loads of people turned up late as they had to go the long way round it in limo's lol, that seems so long, ago, thnks for uploadin the vid, atleast i know my date was telling the truth n that she wasn't standing me up lol :)

The truck was too tall for the bridge, that's how it happened. A miracle nobody was killed, it came to rest against the wall, lying across the length of the pavement. The place was buzzing with people on their lunch breaks.
