  • Dear CBS announcer: February has an "r" in it. It's not pronounced Febuary.

  • @MrJonno2k actually IS is pronounced Febuary by most. While "Feb-RU-ary" is still considered the standard pronunciation, most dictionaries recognize the pronunciation of February without the first "r" as an acceptable variant. The loss of the first "r" of February the result of a process called dissimulation. One of two similar sounds in a word is dropped or changed to avoid the repetition of that sound.

  • WHAT ARE THE TEAMSSSS

  • @lampshades120, sorry, but I disagree. Season 19 was a bit of a downer, and the top 5 for most viewers were seasons 1, 2, 9, 10, & 17.

  • First I saw the preview and freaked out because of Panic!, but now I hear Rachel and Brendon are on here? I have a new-found appreciation to The Amazing Race. ;)

  • P!ATD -3

  • @amazingraceglobal I agree that it's been accepted but that doesn't make it correct. It's people hearing Jan-you-ary and being lazy... Feb-you-ary. It's not a silent 'R'. Anyway, that's all I have to say. Carry on.

  • @brianxyz Acceptable to whom? Because many people say it improperly doesn't make it right. Maybe in USA.

  • @MrJonno2k Both pronouncations are acceptable and I'd say without the "r" is the most common, at least in North America.

  • If there was a team to beat, it would have to be the twins, because I noticed Andrew Webber, who's an MLS player.

  • @Y2Jin99, personally, I am NOT a fan of Brendan & Rachel, and can only hope that these two don't cause an international incident.
