it's actually 17,850JPY, closer to $200, unless these are some limited run jeans. They sell in the states for about $250.

WOW! Where are all the denim experts at? These are around $2000, but nobody thinks that because of what's seen online and in stores. Like Johnny Walker scotch whiskey, theres a Black label for $25-30 and there's the Blue Label King George V for $550-$600. These Momotaro jeans are part of the (rare) GOLD LABEL. The woman is covering up an extra zero. Look at the bottom of the tag... that's right.... Gold Label price tag. If anyone wants more info, i might be able to help.

$2000? Haha. Ok, I am in Japan. I will ship you these jeans for only $1000 per pair then. Great deal. Half price!

Hello. I am from Okayama. Please don't spread a lie about the jeans being so expensive. They are not 2000 dollars. They are about 200.

Ha! They run those hand looms in Kyoto too (for the tourists). The real denim stock comes from Japanese owned looms in Thailand and China. Dumb tourists...

Hahhaha, LuckyDevil.
The denim Momotaro Jeans uses is 100% Japanese made - the cotton comes from Zimbabwe, and the indigo dyeing is done in Kojima, which is also where the denim is made.
By the way, 99.9% of Momotaro Jeans' market is domestic Japan.

(X_X) owh oke, then i didnt say nottin :P
But why so expensive?

The thread used to make the denim is hand-dyed using indigo. That thread is then made into the denim, as shown on the video - 1 metre takes 8 hours to make.
The jeans are apparently completely hand-made, and take 3 months to cut and stitch together.
