A walk through the heart of the Latin Quarter, from the rue de la Huchette to the boulevard Saint Germain, through mostly pedestrian areas. This was shot in one continuous take of about 14 minutes. I have a nearly identical video that follows the same route late at night, if you'd like to compare

  • @Cab73Zin In both this video and the nighttime video of the same area, you can see the Hotel Albe on the right starting at about 3:21, just before the place with the blue awning.

  • @Mxsmanic Thanks Mxsmanic. I didn't mean to imply that Paris was a war zone, or even unsafe in any way, and I hope I didn't offend. I would have the same questions before visiting any major city, esp. here in the States. As you know, there are parts of US cities that go from "safe" to "war zone" in a matter of blocks, so I try not to take anything for granted. Just got done watching your Montmarte video and it was excellent! Inspired me to hop off the beaten path a bit!

  • @Cab73Zin Paris is not a war zone, and safety is absolutely not a problem, even for 9-year-olds (9-year-old Parisians move about the city on their own all the time). The selection of restaurants in the area is vast: French, Italian, Indian, Japanese, Greek, McDonalds, Starbucks … most nearby restaurants are touristy and inexpensive, but you can find almost anything you want by walking around a bit. See my nighttime video of the same area to see what it's like late at night.

  • @Mxsmanic Thanks! We're staying right next to the Hotel d'Albe. We will have two 9 year olds with us, so that's what has me a little more "on my guard" as far as safety goes. If you have any restaurant recs in the area, please send them my way. And thanks again for the great videos. Slowly making my way through all of them!

  • @Cab73Zin All of Paris within the city limits is safe. The area around the rue de la Harpe is completely safe and a very nice place to stay. The only problem you might have is with the noise of people down on the street late at night, as it's a lively area, but that depends on how well the apartment is insulated against sound, and its exact location.

  • I really enjoyed this video. Your style of a slow pan down the roads of Paris France is a good one. I like that you didn't play music too loud over the sounds of the street. It really makes you feel like you took a short visit there.

  • Wow!!! and OMG!!!! I think this is by far the best thing I have ever seen on Utube!! You are a rock staarrryy!! Thank you and please keep making these videos!!!
