In the first place it was not a homophobic comment. It had nothing to do with his being gay (which he hadn't acknowledged when Rosie said this). And frankly, I saw the portion of the show leading up to this moment. Clay was repeatedly taking digs at Kelly and it was becoming increasingly awkward. As for her doing it to Regis, they work together every day, they know each other well and have that kind of rapport. She calmly let him know not to do it again. Rosie was way out of line.

@999xander999 Yeah I would have to agree, I am gay myself and I found what Kelly said to be far from Homophobic. I would have reacted the same way if someone put their hands on my mouth on TV or anywhere unless it was a joke from a close friend, but clay wasn't joking. I agree it would have been annoying for Kelly to cut in here and there but you don't solve it by covering your co host's mouth, it was rude. I like Rosie but she was wrong to call this Homophobic because it wasn't and Kelly isn't

@TheEvilPuppy , although she may have done that before, it whouldent have been following touching fans hands , and regis is also , not a complete stranger, an i whould also Guess with very little doubt they both have hand sanitizer on or around the desk . your health is a very serious issue when in the public eye ,esspessially in the case of haveing a show to prepare for an carry out daily .

i think kelly was being really rude to clay , as a co host not allowing him to say anything intending to conduct the entier interview herself, despite him lookin at her for a cue to go over an over, an haveing verbalised it , but i still dont feel it was in anyway homophobic it was simply a poor judgement call , that could easilly be taken as disgusting done by or to anyone.

Kelly Ripa did the same thing to Regis SEVERAL times. There is a video on Youtube showing this. That makes her a fucking hypocrite. If you had watched the ENTIRE interview Kelly did not let Clay ask ONE question. There was also tension in the opening monologue. I just find it funny we are talking about this 5 years later.
